When will I be charged?
You will be charged on June 2nd, 2026, as soon as the campaign ends. See more details about how charges are processed here: https://help.kickstarter.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005126094-When-is-my-card-charged. You will be charged sales tax for the US states where we are required to collect sales tax when you complete the post-campaign survey and provide your shipping address. This is also when VAT for the UK/Europe will be charged.

I’m interested in making payments over time, how does that work?
If you back the project at a level above $125, you will be offered the option to Pledge Over Time. If you accept the Pledge Over Time schedule your pledge is split into 3 equal payments. The first occurs immediately when the project ends successfully. The second payment occurs one month later, and the third payment a month after that. You’ll see the payment schedule for your pledge at checkout, so that you know how much is due and the date of each payment when you back the project. It is your choice whether you want to split your payment into three installments or pay in full in one payment. Pledge Over Time is only available if you pledge prior to the end of the campaign (June 2nd, 2026). See more details about Pledge Over Time here: https://help.kickstarter.com/hc/en-us/articles/33730365935899-Pledge-Over-Time-Common-Questions

What happens if I select Pledge Over Time, but I do not make all of my payments?
Kickstarter’s response to this query (see https://help.kickstarter.com/hc/en-us/articles/33730365935899-Pledge-Over-Time-Common-Questions) is the following: What happens if a payment fails?
If a payment attempt fails, Kickstarter will notify you to fix your payment within 7 days for charge 1, and 14 days for charges 2 and 3. If you don’t fix a payment in time, any payments you’ve already made may be considered bonus support for the creator.
We will actively be reaching out to you via email if we see that your payment is errored during the Pledge Over Time period.

Where do I input my address to get my stuff?
We will send a survey to each backer after your payment clears. It typically takes 2 weeks for payments to clear and for Kickstarter to send those payments to us. Once this happens, we will send you a backer survey to gather your shipping information and email address, and you will pay any taxes due in your jurisdiction (VAT, sales tax, etc.). We expect the survey to be sent out in the third week after the campaign has ended (approx. June 22-26th). The survey will collect the following: - preferred shipping address - preferred email address for digital rewards (audiobooks) - preferred single title for bookseller bundles with one title - a last chance to add on any item you might still want - state sales tax or VAT (if applicable) will be charged at this phase
This survey will be editable until we lock it at a date closer to the actual shipping date. So, if you move within that time, you can update your shipping address. We will send a reminder before locking addresses.

Why are most of your international shipping rates less than in your After the End campaign?
We listened to backer feedback about the pains of high international shipping prices and the use of certain carriers (here’s looking at you, UPS in Canada!). For this campaign, we have partnered with GamesQuest, a fulfillment company based in the UK with physical hubs in the UK/EU/Canada. We will ship via ocean freight to these hubs (we pay for the freight and for customs clearance), and then from those hubs, they are shipped to the individual backer using a local postal service, so your final shipment does not cross any international borders. That will make shipments customs-friendly (as shipping will start and end in the same country). [Australia/New Zealand would cross international borders as they would be shipped from a facility in the UK, unless we receive so many orders from that region that it makes sense to ship them ocean freight to Australia first.]

The Historical Trailblazer collection has one more book and weighs about 25% more than the After the End collection, is it really correct that your international shipping rates have decreased?
The Historical Trailblazers collection weighs more than the After the End collection, and international shipping prices have increased over the last six months as fuel prices have increased. However, we are offering international shipping prices that are lower (sometimes by quite a lot) than those in our last campaign. The Trailblazers collectors box weighs 5kg/11lbs, but our shipping rates to the UK/EU/AUS/NZ are lower than for the smaller After the End collection (4kg/8.8lbs). This is because we ship to hubs via ocean freight and then fulfill individual orders within the country.

But your rates for Canada are more expensive than last time!?!
Yes, it is quite surprising how expensive it is to ship between the US and Canada when the countries border each other. Unfortunately, shipping to Canada is more expensive than the After the End campaign. Part of this is due to the heavier weight of the Historical Trailblazers, and another part is just that the rates we were quoted (from various services) were all more expensive than last time. However, because these shipments are customs-friendly, you will not get a surprise charge from the carrier for customs, tariffs, or handling when your package is delivered. These surprise charges were the most-cited pain point among our Canadian backers in After the End, so we researched various options and believe we have removed that issue this time around.

I want to support your project, but my country isn't listed among your shipping options. Can you add it?
Yes, we are willing to add other shipping options if you email us ([email protected]) and ask for your country to be added. Shipping rates vary widely by country, so we would rather look up the rate for your exact country than guess an average rate for the rest of the world and not reflect the true shipping costs.

When will the rewards be shipped/delivered?
Our books will be printed abroad and shipped via container ship to distribution centers in the United States/Canada/UK/Europe. From there, we will box up individual orders and mail them out. Our campaign will close on June 2nd, 2026. Our backer survey (to collect shipping addresses and emails) will go out two to three weeks after that. Then, once we get survey responses, we will finalize the number of each item that is needed and order that quantity from suppliers. We estimate that we will finalize quantities and order the books from the printer in July, and printing could take 2-3 months, followed by 2-3 months for ocean freight shipping to the United States/UK/Europe. Because many of these steps are beyond our immediate control, we are conservatively estimating that we will ship to you on or before February 2027. This is subject to change due to overseas shipping times, port congestion, etc. If anything changes, we will actively communicate with backers by providing an update on the Kickstarter project page (and via email). The audiobooks will be delivered via Bookfunnel in the fall of 2026.

What happens if my package gets lost/stolen, or arrives damaged?
If a package is lost or damaged, please email us with supporting photos, etc., and we will see what we can do. If a package shows as delivered, but is stolen/lost, we may not be able to replace it. See additional details related to shipping issues in the “Shipping” details on the Story page.

When do I get my audiobooks?
Audiobooks are scheduled to be ready in the fall of 2026 (most likely November). They will be delivered through the Audiobrary app. This means we will send your audiobooks to the Audiobrary account associated with your email address. The default address will be the one you used for your Kickstarter pledge, but in the backer survey, we will give you the option to include the email associated with your Audiobrary account (should you have an existing one), if it differs from the one you used for Kickstarter. We expect the survey to be sent out in the third week after the campaign has ended (approx. June 23rd).

I've never used Audiobrary. What is it?
Audiobrary (https://audiobrary.com/) is both an audio publisher and direct-to-consumer retailer created by narrator and author Julia Whelan to change how creatives - writers and narrators alike - are compensated in the audiobook industry. The Audiobrary app is how you listen to the projects you purchase or rent through the Audiobrary website… or, in this case, your Kickstarter pledges! We will be distributing the Indigo and Lord of Scoundrels audiobooks only via the Audiobrary app so that the files are protected from piracy.
Last updated: May 07, 2026 13:25
Does this mean I will need to sign up for an Audiobrary account to access my audiobooks if I don't already have one?
In short, yes, but it’s simple. If you do not already have an Audiobrary account, download the Audiobrary app and create an account using the email address associated with your Kickstarter order, and any password of your choosing.
Last updated: May 07, 2026 13:26
Am I able to listen to audiobooks on any device?
You will not be able to listen to them on a computer (again, for anti-piracy reasons), but the Audiobrary app is supported on any iOS or Android device.

Will the collector edition books and audiobooks be available after the campaign ends?
The special edition printed books will not be available outside of Kickstarter, except for any overstock copies of the single print run. There are tiers in the campaign for book sellers, so some may have limited copies of the special editions. However, the print run we order after the end of the Kickstarter campaign will be the only print run for these special editions. Our licensing agreement with the publisher and authors of these books allows only for one print run of hardcovers. If you want this special edition, your best option is to get it through this Kickstarter. The audiobooks will be available exclusively to our backers for 6 months after delivery. After this period, they will be released on other audio platforms.

Can I cancel my pledge after the campaign ends on June 2nd, 2026?
Unfortunately, no. Kickstarter will charge for your pledge as soon as the campaign ends. We are moving quickly to order everything and get it into your hands as fast as possible. We will be ordering materials and making financial commitments to purchase these amounts based on the pledged quantities. As such, we are unable to offer refunds after the campaign ends. However, you can cancel/edit your pledge before the end of the campaign.

I've moved since backing this campaign, what do I do?
The survey where you insert your shipping address will be editable until we lock it at a date very near the actual shipping date. So, if you move in that time, you can update your shipping address. We will send a reminder before locking addresses. Here are more details on how to change your shipping address: https://help.kickstarter.com/hc/en-us/articles/36724750085275-Can-I-change-my-shipping-address-after-I-complete-a-backer-survey-or-pledge-manager.

Can I buy these books from other retailers?
Yes, these are special editions for previously published books. Regular paperbacks and eBooks are available now across a variety of retailers. However, these special editions are only available through this campaign.

I’ve read the entire FAQ section, but I still have a question. Where do I ask it?
You can utilize the direct messaging service through Kickstarter or email us at [email protected]. We will reply promptly, but we are not able to answer questions via social media or DMs

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
